The jigs that John Skinner uses in his videos are similar to the ones produced by the Do-it Banana jig mold. That design head keeps the hook upright. I am still learning how to catch blackfish on a jig and use the Do-it ultra minnow head with the collar cut off. The 11/2 oz jig with the collar off is about 1.4 oz. That weight works in the 40 foot depths that we fish but only near slack current. You also need to use light braid like 10# test to get the jig on the bottom.The Mustad ultra point BLN hook works in that mold. I believe the club owns both molds but we do need good hooks.
