Article 1.          Name                           North Brookhaven Sport Fishermen’s Club

 

Article 2.          Aim                             To encourage, develop, promote and further the cause of the conservation of our                                                             marine resources within the territorial limits of the United States of America.

Article 3.          Membership

                        Section I                      To be eligible for membership, a person must be

A.     A sport fisherman

B.     16 years of age, except junior members

 

Section II                     A junior membership may be issued to any member’s children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews between the ages of 7 and 16 years. A junior member may attend meetings, but may only do so with his or her sponsor/guardian present. A junior member shall be required to pay $5.00 dues, per year. (5/2010)

 

Section III                    The club membership shall be unlimited, non-partisan, and non-sectarian. All new members are subjected to a three months probationary period, after said three months membership will be granted. (5/2010)

 

Section IV                    All members must strictly abide by and uphold the Constitution and By-Laws of the North Brookhaven Sport Fishermen’s Club and will, at all times hereafter act in a sportsman like manner. (5/2010)

 

Article 4.          General Funding

Section I                      The funds of this corporation derived from dues and other sources shall be deposited in an account to be known as the general fund, and shall be used to pay all bills and claims against the corporation arising out of the control, regulate and maintenance of the corporation.

                       

Article 5.          The Board of Directors shall consist of the following

                        Section I                      A. President                             B. Vice President

C. Treasurer                             D. Corresponding Secretary

E. Recording Secretary                        F. Financial Secretary

G. Sergeant At Arms                H. Three Trustees

 

Section II                     Officers shall be elected for a period of one year by a majority vote of the membership in good standing present at the election, by written ballot. At the regular meeting October, the president shall appoint a nominating committee. The nominating committee shall present a slate of officers for nomination at the regular meeting in November. Nominations may be made from the floor, elections to be held during the meeting in December. Term of office to be from January 1st to December 1st.

Article 6.          Meetings

Section I                      There shall be a meeting held every month, at a predetermined location. (12/75)

 

Section II                     Special meetings may be called by the president when deemed necessary or advisable, and the president shall, upon the request of three or more members of the board of directors or of eight members, made in writing, expressing the object and purpose of said meeting, call such a meeting.

 

Section III                    Notice of all such special meetings shall be mailed at least seven days prior to the holding thereof to each active member.

 

Article 7.          Amendments

Section I                      The constitution may be amended by any such proposal submitted in writing and read at two consecutive regular meetings of the club. After the second reading, such amendments will be decided by a majority vote of the members in good standing present and voting. (4/12/76)

 

Section II                     To repeal any constitutional amendment, a waiting period of one calendar year from the date of the amendment’s enactment must be observed. (4/12/76)
