Be advised the rules for this contest have changed for 2012

A revised set of rules will follow

The minimun size entree for a bluefish is 5 lbs

All other minimun entree fish in the contest; must be a Keeper as per current NY. regulations

Their are three catogerys for entrees;

Fishing from the Surf

Fishing from a private Boat

Fishing from a licenced Captain's vessel

 

 

 

  1. Members may enter (1) fish of each species each month for eligible species that meets or exceeds the
    Minimum weights or lengths as listed on chit form. Only fish listed on the chit form can be entered in the contest.

2. The member who enters the most fish and earns the most points, wins: the Fisherman of the Year Award.
    The award is given in both the Boat category and Surf category.

3. Fish entered need not be the largest per month to earn points; one point is earned for each legal fish entered.

4. Target species which are out of season are eligible for entry in the contest;
    However these fish must be released unharmed promptly after weigh in.

5. The contest year starts/runs from the end of December meeting to following December meeting.

6. Chits for the month must be submitted by final call for chits at the intermission of the monthly meetings.
    If you cannot attend a meeting to enter chits you may send them in with another member attending meeting,       mail them, or E‐Mail or telephone them in to the contest manager prior to the meeting.

7. Chits are accepted on a meeting to meeting, month to month basis and will not be accepted for previous months.

8. Fish need not be kept to be entered into contest. Portable scales are accepted.

9. Witnesses are not required. This contest is based upon the honor system, which each member is expected to    adhere to.

10. To be a winner of the Fisherman of the Year contest he or she must be a club member in good standing at the concluding December meeting.
Attendance of any or all meetings is not a requirement in this contest.

11. The winner of each category;
Fisherman of the Year‐Boat
Fisherman of the Year‐Surf
Will receive a plaque at the annual dinner and a $25.00 gift certificate.

12. Certificates are awarded at the annual dinner for the 2nd and 3rd largest fish in each species entered for contest year.

13. Each month the fisherman with the largest fish for each contest species for that month will receive $5.00 at the annual dinner. Or if said fisherman is unable to attend, at a subsequent meeting afterwards.
Ties in any species per month category will be broken by the earlier date of capture.
